Zach has been involved in marching percussion for five years. Starting off on cymbals and moving to snare in the seventh grade. The next year in the eighth grade Zach auditioned for Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps out of Atlanta, Georgia. Zach did not make the snare line but was invited snare in 2011. DSIP won first place at the SCGC Championships in the Independant A Division in 2010 & 2011. Zach is a member of the Student Leadership Group, received the 2010 Band Director award for Most Improved, and voted by his peers as the Most Outstanding Freshman. Zach has been a part of many concert and marching honor bands over the past five years. In 2010 Zach auditioned with Music City Drum and Bugle Corps out of Nashville, Tennesee and received a contract for the 2010/2011 drum corps season. Zach has also received a contract to march again with Music City Drum and Bugle Corps and Doublestop Indoor Percussion for the 2012 season. Zach is currently writing percussion arrangements for middle school and high school drumlines and is providing group and individual instruction. Read more about lessons and arrangements here.
